This recipe serves 4 people

Ingredients:

1 Loaf Brioche

1 Cup (240mL) Milk

2 Large Eggs

1 Tsp (5g) Orange Zest

2 Tsp (8g) Vanilla Extract

½ Tsp (1g) Ground Cinnamon

½ Tsp (1g) Ground Nutmeg

¼ Tsp (1g) Salt

¼ Cup (50g) Granulated Sugar

12 Tbs (225g) Nutella

2 Tbs (28g) Unsalted Butter

Maple Syrup

Confectioner’s Sugar if desired

Directions:

1.     In a bowl, add the milk, eggs, orange zest, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar and mix until well combined.

2.     Slice the brioche into 2-inch thick slices, and using a small sharp knife, gently hollow out the middle of the slices, using the cut side of the bread. Be sure not to let the knife cut all the way through the other side of the slice.

3.     Put around 3 Tbs of Nutella inside each slice, and put a piece of the bread you cut out on the Nutella to cover it up so the surface of the bread is flat and will cook without the Nutella melting out.

4.     Gently soak the filled slices of bread for about 1 second per side, then cook in a large skillet over medium heat with 2tbs of butter that is melted and bubbling.

5.     Cook for 2 minutes per side, then cook the top and bottom sides for 1 minute each.

6.     Top with maple syrup and dust with confectioner’s sugar if desired.
